This Privacy Policy explains what information Horn and Fin (“we”, “us”) collects when you use hornandfin.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your username, email address and password, and any profile details you choose to add.
- Listings. If you add or manage a business listing, we collect the business details you submit, such as name, address, phone number, website, email, photos and description. Listing details are published on the Site.
- Reviews and comments. Reviews, ratings, photos and comments you post are published on the Site along with your display name.
- Inquiries and contact forms. When you send a message through a listing or our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message. Inquiries sent through a listing are passed to that business.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, referring page and the date and time of your visit. This is collected with cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
Cookies and third-party services
We use the following third-party services, which may set their own cookies or collect information about your visit:
- Google services (Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Site Kit) to measure traffic and understand how the Site is used.
- Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ad Settings or www.aboutads.info.
- Jetpack and WordPress.com for site statistics, security and image delivery.
- Affiliate networks, including impact.com and FlexOffers, which use cookies to track when a visit to a partner store started on our Site so we can be credited for a purchase.

How we use information
We use information to run and improve the Site; publish listings and reviews; create and manage accounts; pass inquiries to the businesses you contact; respond to messages; send account and listing notices; prevent fraud, spam and abuse; measure traffic; show ads; and meet legal obligations.
How we share information
We don’t sell your personal information for money. We share information:
- with the businesses you contact through the Site;
- publicly, for listings, reviews and comments you post;
- with service providers that host, secure and operate the Site, and with the analytics, advertising and affiliate partners listed above;
- when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public or Horn and Fin;
- as part of a sale or transfer of the Site.
Sharing information with advertising and affiliate partners through cookies may count as “sharing” or “selling” under some state privacy laws. See “Your choices and rights” below.
Your choices and rights
- You can update your account and listing details at any time by logging in.
- You can ask us to delete your account, or to remove a review or listing you posted, by emailing info@hornandfin.com.
- You can opt out of marketing emails using the link in the email.
- Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. To make a request, email info@hornandfin.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We won’t discriminate against you for using these rights.
- Your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal isn’t treated as an opt-out, but you can use the cookie controls and ad opt-out links above.
Data retention and security
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to run the Site and meet legal obligations. Published reviews may stay on the Site after an account is closed unless you ask us to remove them. We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no website is completely secure.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other websites
Listings and articles link to outfitters, stores and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the date at the top when we do.
