This was a below average hunt at best. We arrived a day early because the owner Zeke Espey stated we would be able to view the land we hunted and sight in our guns. This ended up being a quick stop at two fields and him showing us a couple stands, however he did have time to show his father and father in law spots on public property while we sat in the truck. Zeke also claims that there is a 9 day rest between hunter groups, this is a completeley false as we looked at his booking ledger and found out he had booked hunts back to back for the last month with over 20 hunters prior to us arrving. Upon arriving they had several rules we were unaware of such as no going to the bathroom in the woods, if you shot an undersized deer they would keep the deer (which is illegal) and several other miniscule rules that all had a $500 fine we were never made aware of this prior to arriving. The food was average, rice and hot dogs cut up, chili and hot dogs for supper were some of the meals. Breakfeast was make cereal or a bagel and lunch was fine with basic bag lunches. Also only 3 out of 7 guys saw 130" shooter bucks with very few deer seen by everyone. Also why there a group from West Virginia came by because they had bad luck with another outfitter and our 2 guides spent time with them showing them land on "our" time. At one point during the hunt Zeke the owner was sleeping and I woke him up to take me hunting and he refused saying it was to "muddy out", so after a locall had called me that we had met and had offered to take me hunting the other guide finally chimed in and took me out. The property is surrounded with other private landowners and they put you on the outer borders so seeing other hunters was a common thing as well as trespassers, this also does not allow the to properly manage the land for the 130" deer the say they want you to shoot. This also caused 3 of the hunters to leave early There is not 400 acres like they say they have it is just a touch over 3000. the only good things I have to say is the ladder stands were comfortable, Zekes wife is super friendly, Zeke is a good hunter but does not have what it takes to be the face3 of the business.

To start off I will give anyone the numbers to all clients that hunt with us to verify that we are a great outfitting business, including the hunters that hunted the same week as Robert Sawitski, including his cousin and uncle. They will tell you how hard we work to get each and every client a trophy.

This hunter was not accurate at all. He was very selfish and only was wanting to kill a deer himself. On the day their group of 6 showed up, we did go around and look at the land, I did not drive and walk to the stands because they would be hunting the next morning. Why would I drive and walk around scaring all the deer where my clients are gonna hunt!? The first 2 days of the hunt the temperature was in the 70's with wind blowing 20-35mph, so this contributed to the lack of deer movement. Also, this hunter went to the local casino the next 2 days, which is when the weather was perfect for hunting and the other hunter killed thier trophies. The reason that 2 of the hunters left, which happen to be his cousin and uncle, (which they came and hunted with us the very next year and plan to keep hunting with us) and they shot thier deer and had a great time, but wanted to get back for their opening gun season at home. The other individual left after the second day of his hunt, because he was hunting and had a nice deer comming and said that another hunter on the other side of the fence 400yrds from him scared the deer out of the field. He also said the coyotes tried to attack him on his way back to the truck, AND he left early the next morning and never said a word to us that he was leaving, he just up and left. He was the only person that saw another hunter. The rest of the land claim is totally false!! He found my paper work for the other hunters and went thru it. It does not show where the other hunters were hunting and on 4,000 acres we had no one hunt the stands they were in almost all season. I mean if you divide the 4,000 acres by the 7 hunters we had in camp, that gives each hunter over 570 acres to hunt on!! I feel this selfish individual is attacking me totally unfairly, just because he did not score a kill. I actually texted him while I was glassing a field and told him a great buck was out, I asked if he wanted me to get his father and he said no to come and get him to try and shoot it!! This report of his is totally false.
