DISCOUNTED 5 DAY BULL ELK HUNT/LODGING & MEALS OUTSIDE OF CRAIG COLORADO.
Hunt Cost is $4000 reduced to only $3195 and Elk Deer Combo only $4995
Hunting Location: Craig, Colorado
You will be fully guided with Meals and lodging Trophy hunting 5 days in the famous NW Colorado Elk Bowl. This area has more elk per mile than anywhere else in the world. Colorado has 300,000 elk basically all in the western half of the state. The next highest is Montana and Wyoming which only have about 100,000 each.
Hunts are available in GMU003, 301, 15, 13, 131 along with special elk hunts in 002, 201.
You are hunting an area that has a local elk herd and migrating elk herds all at the same time. You will also see lots of mule deer while you are hunting elk which can make a combo hunt very enjoyable bringing down some big bucks. Because of the low altitude and low snow level in the Craig valley this is a migration point for both elk and deer coming down from the high mountains where they spend their summers.
Many deer and elk have found the Craig area so tolerable summer and winter with CRP grass and river bottoms they don’t go back up in the mountains anymore, but spend summer and winter in this area.
This has made the area less dependent on the migration and higher success rates.
The application date deadline for some elk, all antelope and all deer is April 5th.
Late Season Deer can and have broke into the 200 inch class. Deer alone is $2995.
Animal size expected: Bull Elk of multiple sizes with the same for Mule deer
Opportunity/success: 99% opportunity 75% success
Season dates: Archery starts in Late August and runs through October with a 10 day muzzleloader season about the middle of September. Early October to mid November for the Rifle, October 18th and runs to the 26th you can pick any 5 days between these days.
This elk hunt can be for archery, muzzleloader, or 4 different rifle seasons. Some tags are over the counter, and some are draw only. Please work with the guide to get your Colorado bull elk license application in before April 5th 2011. This is true also if you would like to shoot an addition buck mule deer, cow elk, or mule deer doe. There may be a few land owner vouchers available but will probably add additional cost to the tag. The main draw was April 5 but there is a mid August left over’s, and outfitter also has a few vouchers.
The lodging is warm, with meals served to match your hunting schedule. If you have any special dietary restrictions or allergies please advise us so we can be prepared before the hunt and close to where you will be hunting. It is possible to have deer come through camp at night and elk move through the area within range of the lodging.
We pre-scout the area during the previous week and know where the animal will be opening morning. After that more can be pushed in by pressure from adjacent properties.

You will be hunting spot and stalk going to areas that these big timber bucks have been spotted during scouting feeding and bedding. This is the time of the rut so they can be on the move for does. On the other hand they may be much easier to spot because they are with does and 10 deer are easier to spot than one. Snow will also to show where the deer have been concentrating in an area providing the highest density of deer to look at while searching for your trophy buck.

Colorado Mountain Lion behind Trained Lion Dogs
ID Number: CO-Mountain Lion-All-Craig-Kyle
Hunting Location: Craig, CO
Length of Hunt: Five days
Lodging: Yes

Opportunity/success: 95% Opportunity 95% Success
Sell Price: $ 4000
Price Reduced down to only: $3495.00 for the first two “On call” hunters
This hunt has a high success rate. The Colorado mountain lion hunts take place in highly populated deer and elk wintering grounds near Craig, CO.
It’s a five day hunt with meals and lodging provided. Transportation is by 4x4 truck, snow mobiles and ATVs with snow tracks. We are so certain about our high level of success that if you don't fill you’ll be invited back for another hunt on an "on call" basis. We’ll contact you once we have a lion located.
We are so successful that we are also looking for "on call" hunters to call when we have located a cat. This is because we seldom have a hunter who needs to come back because he didn't fill. This area is loaded with mountain lions and the number needs to be lowered to protect wintering deer and elk herds. This area is one of the few that the DOW allows both female and male lions to be shot because of the over population of lions.
Note: This hunt can be physically demanding as all mountain lions hunts can be. The cold temperatures and the activity needed to take a lion can be demanding. You’ll be housed and fed in Craig, CO. The hunting area is huge since a big tom may have a range of 50 miles. Within that range he will have four or five females he checks regularly. You will be hunting around deer and elk wintering grounds because that is the main food source of mature lions. This will include private ranches, BLM and national forest properties.
The choice of weapons can run from handguns and bows to muzzle loaders and rifles.
Discuss your weapon of choice with your guide so that it will be a good match for the cat and terrain that you will be hunting.
