The Bob Marshall has hundreds of miles of rivers and streams that are extremely good fishing. The South Fork of the Flathead, one of Montana’s best kept secrets is a fly fishing paradise, with mile after mile of exciting unforgettable water. You can expect to catch between 30 to 50 West Slope Cutthroat a day, anywhere between 12 and 18 inches, with an occasional lunker over 20 inches. Many of the drainages that drain into the South Fork go un-fished year after year, and give our guests the opportunity to fish in a true wilderness setting. During your trip you will enjoy some of the most spectacular fishing in America. All fish are wild because no stocking of fish takes place in these wilderness areas. In the spirit of conservation, Big Salmon Outfitters recommends only de-barbed hooks, and maintains a strict catch and release policy. However, each guest is allowed the opportunity to keep two fish during the trip for a hearty trout dinner.
