Upland Game
By-Pass Farms's has some of Missouri's best hunting for waterfowl, whitetail deer and eastern turkey. Our hunt packages include guided hunts, great midwestern hospitality at our lodges, and our famous farm fresh meals. By-Pass is located in Central Missouri along the northern side of the Missouri River in Carroll County. The river makes several large bends and forms the Wakenda Loop. We are at the southern end of the Swan Lake Zone. The entire area has a rich tradition of waterfowl hunting. The Swan Lake Zone has three major refuge areas: Fountain Grove, Swan Lake and Grand Pass. The Grand Pass Conservation Area (5,400 acres) is directly across river from our hunting areas. The Grand Pass Area is referred to as the “The Pass”; and hence, “By-Pass” has attracted more than 100,000 birds for the past decade. Last year at the end of the season, Grand Pass was holding more than 100,000 birds and they never left.
We have put together a cluster of farms to the North and West of the refuge pools. By-Pass owns over 1,500 acres and leases another 3,000+ acres to have numerous hunting areas. Each area may be the hot spot at different times throughout the season. We hunt private ground marshes, sloughs, creeks, cornfields--wherever the birds are. Late in the season after freeze-up, we hunt the Missouri River by boat or from the banks. Early season hunters should expect teal, wood ducks, gadwall and mallards. The late season hunts will be huge flocks of mallards and snow geese. We have two fully-restored farmhouses on our hunting area. We feature incredible Missouri farm-fresh meals. We provide a full-service hunt, including guided hunts, home-cooked meals, and lodging.
By-Pass is easily accessible from anywhere in the world. The Kansas City International Airport is about two hours away. Carrollton has an excellent airport for small planes and is accessible from Highways 65, 24, and10. We can arrange for travel, or arrive on your own.
