We offer a variety in hunting experiences. Our family has been exploring, hunting, and fishing in these beautiful mountains since our grandfather homesteaded here in 1910 the Tate family has been in the outfitting business since 1978. We are a professional licensed outfitter with the state of Montana. We offer a number of different types of hunts we hunt both private and public land. Because of the vast area we hunt in we can offer both guided and unguided hunts. Upper Canyon Outfitters sits between three major Rocky Mountain Ranges, the Snowcrest Range on the south, the Greenhorns on the north, and the Gravelly’s to the east. All within ten minutes from our ranch. We have two camps for our guided hunters and our unguided hunter stay at our base ranch. Within this hunting district the Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks only allows the taking of brow tine bulls. This rule has helped create an elk herd of substantial size in our area. This has enabled us to have a high success rate for five and six point bulls. During archery season and during the rifle season your elk tag is good for a bull or a cow elk.
