Free Ranging West Texas Trophy Mule Deer Hunts at a reduced rate

(A) Treat yourself to a Texas Mule deer hunt like no others. The area has many dirt tanks and feeder and lots and lots of Mule deer for the taking The 3 day hunt has proved to fill all the tags with mule deer bucks and since you have one on your deer tag anyway why not use it. You will be hunting 2000 acres of mesquite and desert cover and if the weather cooperates it will be during the rut. Bucks of the 130-150 class are common on this hunt. You will be semi-guided with experienced guide that have previously scouted the area and know where the big buck bed during the day, water and feed. There will only be a total of 12 hunters selected for this hunt. They will be set up as 4 hunters for 3 days, and this will be done 3 times. The early hunts will be catching the deer off guard. The late season if a chill is in the air with begin spurring the rut. The complete season window is 11/28-12/11.

(B) There is also a 1200 acre high fence facility in some of the most rugged and thick mesquite country you have ever seen. This not your typical high fence, in this one you will earn it.  The mule deer average slightly bigger than the free ranging and know how to hide. This is probably the only high fence Mule deer you will ever see. As a rule mule deer cannot live, breed, and survive in high fence like whitetail can. It was possible with this one because we fenced in the existing mule deer inside a 1200 acre enclosure. We made certain they had feed and water and spent as little time as necessary in or around the enclosure. This minimal man activity has also made the deer spooky toward humans which also make them more difficult to hunt.

 (C) For those DIY hunters we have one for mule deer and you. It is a 200 acre patch of ground between the sanctuary of Big Bend National Park and Big Bend National forest by alpine. The deer travel between these two areas along with staying on this private land. The season here is 12/7-12/11 with the best success toward the end of you’re the hunt as the bucks begin to get rutty wing the incoming cool weather.

IF you would rather hunt desert Whitetail we have some good free ranging ones on our ranch with our guided $1950 hunt. This ranch offers easy access and is located only a 35 minute drives from Eldorado and 1 hour and 20 minutes from San Angelo. Situated in western Schleicher County where the terrain is gently rolling hills, draws, fields, and thickets. Oak, mesquite, and cedar trees are just a few of the types of plant life on the ranch. A very healthy population of whitetail deer inhabits the ranch; there are also a healthy amount of Rio Grande turkey, varmints, a few quail and predators. 

The ranch is 1,600 acres free range and is part of a 4,000 acre family owned ranch that has been game managed for many years. There is a cozy clean hunter’s cabin with pool table and Wi-Fi that can accommodate up to a group of 5 comfortably. Hunters will eat dinner; play cards, drinks, etc. in the main house or around the fire pit. There is a good road system throughout the ranch and we will provide transportation to our hunters to and from blinds, stands, etc. Hunters can fly into San Angelo and rent a vehicle, the ranch is 1 hour and 20 minutes away. Airport pick up in San Angelo is available.

We will only offer guided hunts on this property to ensure that the right animals are harvested each season. A 4 1/2 year old buck is our age minimum on all hunts. We will hunt out of blinds, over trails, spot and stalk, over water, and if during the rut we will enjoy some of the best rattling action around. There is a year round protein and corn feeding program in place on this ranch, we feed heavily to ensure our deer are in excellent health.

We have offered nearly 100% successes the past several years to our deer and turkey hunters. If you book a whitetail trophy buck hunt on this ranch a buck in the 130" upwards of 150+" can be expected. The biggest of bucks are very elusive and offer a very challenging hunt.

These hunts are run on either family or friends properties keeping my costs down so I can pass them on to you. We specialize in free range hunts for native and exotic species.

My guides and I do this for the love of the sport not dollar signs. You will find out that we are very laid back and easy going yet when needed will do whatever it takes to get you your trophy.  

Success rates remain at nearly 100% on guided hunts and 90% on self guided hunts. We offer semi guided and unguided hunts for those on a budget or simply just not wanting a guide.  We are set up for the single hunter or larger groups wanting an extended stay. Pricing and hunts are specific to individual ranches so we can assure you of the best possible hunting experience..

With one exception all of or West Texas hunts are free range, no high fences, and not “stocked”, the hunting is the way it should be.  Some of our ranches containing exotics and hogs are game fenced or high fenced but your hunt will not be a walk in the park. We do not offer any guaranteed kills but you will find out that if you can shoot straight you should be going home with a nice trophy. 

If you are the laid back sit around the camp fire type who enjoys just being “away from it all” this is the place for you also.
