The costs of many are escalated to provide, meals and lodging that you can get cheaper and near the hunt site. Some have Campers, or stay in local motels. This leaves me to focus 100% on getting you close to the animal you came for. In doing so I have dropped my price by about 1/3rd and my 4 hunter prices, unbeatable!

You will be trophy hunting western Montana in millions of acres called the famous Bitterroot National Forest from blinds, or spot and stalk whatever looks to be the most successful after the outfitter pre-scouted the prime public land hunting area. This kind of hunting can have a 0-60 exertion level due to the choice of hunting style. The best dates to hunt vary with the species and the seasons that the animal is legal to hunt. 

We have taken lodging out of this hunt to significantly lower the price. You will need a license which is easy to obtain. Motels are close enough to the hunting areas we use the comfort of them for lodging. If you have a camping trailer it can be used also. We do provide some of the meals to make you hunting time more efficient. The Bitterroot & Sapphire Mountains where I hunt is famous for beauty and ruggedness, and we have a history of supplying trophy quality big game. I can provide the best hunt for you in this area. I know these mountains, better than I know the back of my hand! I can offer a variety of hunting methods to match the hunters skills and abilities. You will have an enjoyable trip and I can make it a 100% successful time for you.

You can book a discounted hunt without having a partner.  New for 2011, all nonresident elk and deer tags went on a drawing. No guaranteed outfitter licenses anymore. No worry, drawing chances are very high, and if not successful, we will hunt the next year, a different hunt, or refund the deposit. This outfitter will accept a 50% deposit to hold the dates and hunt you want. 

He has a long history of guiding hunters here in the famous Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. He learned with my parents who were outfitters, and I have operated here on the millions of acres in the Bitterroot and Selway Wilderness areas since 1970, guiding clients from all over the world for Montana trophies.

I guide on each hunt, and may confirm as your guide, with early booking deposits. All my guides and I like to hunt hard for our clients. Trophy size animals are available to all hunters. My goal is to harvest a trophy for everyone, but I provide a quality hunt first. Because it is called hunting, not killing. My hunters know their outfitter/guide tries as hard as they can, for the opportunity, which runs 50% or better most years on Elk, and 85% at least on Deer & Black Bear. Success runs 100% mostly on hunts for Antelope, Sheep, Moose, Mountain Lion and Mountain Goat. These tags are by drawing, and I can help you with application deadlines & tag costs.

             SPECIAL TROPHY BUCK HUNT FOR 160-190” MULE DEER HUNT

The hunt will be based in Hamilton Mt. at the Town House Inn for accommodations. Hunters may fly into Missoula Mt. and we will pick up and bring to Hamilton. We have deer hunting area within 15 minutes of the motel. We hunt hard each day, glassing, using 4 wheel drive truck to access areas. We will track and follow deer, drive and still hunt. Pretty rough and rugged country in western Montana has allowed these bucks to see their 6th birthday and 180 inches in antler growth. Big buck are never plentiful anywhere but with work you will find one that quenches your thirst and will adore you game room wall. Lodging is $60.00 per night, motel serves breakfast. We take a sack lunch provided by me, and in the evening the hunter buys his meal at local restaurant when he comes in. We will get game to processor and do capeing for trophies. Transportation and guide included. 6 day guided hunt cost $ 3995.00. This is not the hunt for the hunter looking for a glamorous hunt staying in an upscale hunting lodge sitting around the fireplace with a pipe in his mouth and a hunting story on his tongue. We put all money and effort into one goal, getting that big buck. If this is what you have in mind and the antlers are more important than the lodging and meals we can do this together. We have thousands of acres to hunt, that I was born and raised in and trophy deer are available for those that will make the effort that is required to locate them.

2012 Mountain Lion   (Cougar) Rifle - Handgun - Archery Hunting

This outfitter has established himself as one of the West's foremost Lion Guides.  The Cougar Hunts run December through April 15.  The Cougar population is at an all time high. I use dogs for the chase on these big cats, and snowmobiles, 4-wheel drive vehicles, and snowshoes for transportation on these hunts.  Everything except your own personal lodging, gear and license are furnished.  We recommend the use of a handgun, rifle or archery on a cougar hunt. There are quotas in areas, License & tags may be over the counter for non-residents. 100% success on hunts!!!

I ask you to be flexible on your time schedule.  I set up a schedule of hunts and will book you into one of those slots. However, if a hunter completes his hunt early and the conditions are perfect for hunting, I may ask you to arrive earlier than your booked time. On the other hand, if the weather is not perfect for the hunt, I may ask you to wait to arrive until the weather is better.  I really want your hunt to be a success and will do everything possible to assure you that it will be. This outfitter has some history of hunting in his résumé. He has been a License Outfitter since 1976 insured and experienced. Over all those years, I have packed in for camps in Idaho & Montana and have done day hunts where we use vehicles. I have a forest service permit on an entire national forest in Montana at this time. I offer guided hunts by vehicle and foot. We fair chase in this area by spotting and stalking. I was born and raised here. My method of hunting right now is pick up hunters at a motel or their camp, take them in 4x4 truck to an area and we hunt on foot, then return after dark. My prices are around 500.00 per day per guide, and guides can take up to 4 hunters which reduces individual hunt cost. I normally have myself and 4 other guides. I use horses for game retrieval, or I use snowmobile, 4-wheeler or backpack. My reservation application is the contract, my refund policy is full refund if not drawn for license on elk and deer, or you can apply next year, or do a different hunt. I use experienced guides, some that come directly from my own guide school I teach in the summer since 1983. I provide guide service, transportation, game care to a processor and pre taxidermy capeing. Guide to hunter ratio can be 1x1 to 4 x 1 time with each client varies in these ratios. Hunter numbers depend on how they book and the guide ratio. I have access to over 1 million acres of public national forest mountain land in western Montana, lots of room and lots of game country. Most elk country we hunt is rough. Hunting elevation is around 7000 feet. Still only minutes from town, this is less than 4000 feet. I can arrange lodging and food for a separate price. I send a, “what to bring” list. There is one in the brochure. I also send a reference list in the brochure. I think you need a brochure. I do not cancel hunts due to weather. I run better than 50% on elk for hunters I guide fair chase. I'm honest, hard working, still guiding each hunt and look for the biggest trophies I can find for clients. 

You need to be in shape, or lucky and here at the right time to get elk. Deep snow make elk here easier, snow normally gets deepest last of the season. Otherwise, if you’re in shape and can go with me where I want to go, any time of the season is good for elk. First two weeks of Nov. are best here for Mule Deer though, unless you’re in good shape and have a few days at least to devote to deer. 

It's tough country, it's fair chase and elk do not want to be shot, normal do it yourself success for fair chase elk hunting here is around 5%, including cows. My guiding success is much higher. There are some recent elk pictures on my web site, which is being updated. The promo for free hunting is only good until 3/1, 2011. I have taken many first timers. The elk are here. Fun to hunt, and you should be in shape to enjoy it as a hunt. Late season, with deep snow, and sometimes you run into them close to roads a lot, and being in shape is not so important, you just need the snow, time and persistence.
