At Cross Country Outfitters, that is what we really offer: a hunt. There is no canned or fenced hunting, no absolute guarantee; everything is fair chase and fair game. There are no trophy fees or hidden costs. A hunter who takes a Boone and Crockett Midwestern buck is charged the same as a hunter taking their first buck. We want you to leave with a feeling of accomplishment that no canned or fenced hunt could ever aspire to achieve. The only guarantee you will find is that we and our staff will make your trip the best it can possibly be.

There are a lot of outfitters out there to choose from. We want to make sure that you are happy with your choice. The first and foremost reason people book with us is our genuine concern for each hunter to get the opportunity they came for. Our amount of time in pre-season preparation, knowledge and research of terrain and animal management, attention to detail before and during the hunt, and absolute effort to ensure a hunter’s safety and happiness allows us to have close to 80% rebooking from year to year. Most hunters arrive as fellow hunters and leave as friends. We handle all hunts that are booked personally. Although we do hire guides as needed for larger groups, we are always around to ensure everything is going as it should. Secondly, this is our only source of income; it is not a secondary source. Hunting and guiding is our life and it is what we know best. Many outfitters and landowners provide hunting opportunities to supplement their main income. They do not have the time to dedicate to make the hunting better if it is not their main focus for revenue. There is probably only two months time spread throughout the year that we are not guiding a hunter or group of hunters. We take what we do seriously as it consumes all of our time. You can be sure we are as earnest about getting you what you came for as you are.

Lastly, we strive to do all we can to fit the hunt to you individual needs. For example, some people prefer not to use climbers, so we provide lock-ons, ladders, ground blinds and towers. Others like to bring their own favorite stand, and we do our best to accomodate them. A lot of turkey hunters prefer to do their own calling, others prefer a caller familiar with the local birds. We always have options available to offer to people. More choices means that more people are satisfied. Our overall objective is for you to leave camp having had a successful hunt. There is a difference, however, between hunting and killing. We believe more in the attitude that we do not hunt to kill, but kill to have hunted. Having said that, our success rates are relatively high due to the emphasis put on hunting and enjoying the hunt, not killing. Our turkey seasons over the past seven years have been around 100% shot opportunity and between 60% to 100% shot opportunity for whitetail, depending on whether hunting during rifle or archery season.

We look forward to the opportunity to provide an exciting hunting experience and will do everything possible to ensure that it is a successful, safe, enjoyable and memorable one. Nebraska

Nebraska is a sleeper state for monster whitetails. Here there are rolling hills and creek bottoms that are slam packed with deer. Their rich, black, fertile soil is great for crops and agriculture. The ample amount of soybeans and corn, along with very little pressure is what allows these whitetails to grow so big in this part of the country! In the great state of Nebraska we have over 3,000 acres of prime whitetail ground!

We stayed in an old house with two or three in a 8x9 room. My room was the old laundry room with no cap on the washer drain. This allowed me to have a wake up call EVERYTIME someone went to the bathroom. The owner and guide showed up at camp 3 hours before we did and we're hanging stands the day our hunt started. The owner then leaves to go to the Kansas camp leaving his one guide to take care of 8 people. I ended up driving people around to stands to help him. Nice employee and he did the best he could do but Cross Country Outfitters is a hunting on your own guide service.....if you call that a service.
