Outer Banks

Come join Captain Andy for a good time fishing off the great Outer Banks.

The goal of the Good Times is to make your fishing experience a memorable time. A trip to go home and tell your friends about all the "big" ones that you caught.

Captain Andy specializes in sportfishing the Gulf Stream. Fishing for sailfish, marlin, wahoo, tuna, dolphin, amberjack, and grouper. If fishing for shark is your interest then ask for our shark charter.

Check the fishing report to see what is currently happening.

We look forward to you booking your Hatteras deep sea fishing experience with us.Captain Andy started his fishing career around 1977, skipping school to harvest Striped Bass and White perch in the Roanoke and Chowan rivers.

After mastering these fisheries, he graduated to offshore fishing, starting as mate on several of the local charter boats including the Good Times, learning the ropes of offshore fishing.

Fishing the Gulf Stream waters off picturesque Hatteras Island for almost 20 years, Captain Andy has logged well over 2500 fishing trips. The merging of two great ocean currents provide anglers with an optimum fishing environment.

Captain Andy's ability to create memorable fishing adventures will keep anglers returning, year after year to repeat their adventure."As there is a season for eveything. In Hatteras, every season is fishing season"

Blue Marlin are here in large numbers in the months of May through September. They range in size from 100 to 1000 lbs

White Marlin are smaller in size than blue marlins, but are quite acrobatic when hooked. We catch white marlin from May through September.

Sailfish are beautiful and also put on a spectacular show.

They can be found from May to October and range in size from 5 to 7 feet long, from 25 to 80 lbs.

Dolphin are also known as Mahi Mahi and is a real delicacy.

It is a beautiful fish in the water and is the "bread and butter" of our fishery, available in the summer in large numbers, and can be caught almost any time of year.

Wahoo are excellent eating. Wahoo can be caught in Hatteras almost any month of the year.

They range in size from 12 to 100 lbs.

Yellowfin Tuna are great fun to catch and are truly delicious.

Prime Tuna fishing times are Nov thru May. However, yellowfins are caught off Hatteras in every month.

Amberjack is an extreme fighter.

If looking for a workout on your fishing trip, this is the fish.

Grouper great saltwater food fish.

Triggerfish small but aggressive fish.

American Red Snapper prized food fish.

Booked at hunting and fishing show. A deposit was made by the Captains request, and was advised it would be returned if something happened, like bad weather. Well, the bad! happened, and the captain called and cancelled the trip because of rough seas. Now for the reason of not being able to fish the species the trip was booked for, the captain advised he would return the deposit asap.
This didnt happen, and 6 weeks later my returned check showed cashed. I called and left 12 messages, and 7 emails in which he would not return after he cashed the deposit. Never the less, the Attorney General now has the case, and it is still in mitigation. Needless to say, this is one to stay away from for your deepsea fishing needs. Even the Marina that he runs out of wouldnt help either.
