* Mac Byrum is the top Catfish Guide on Lake Norman. * Mac is a charter member of the Carolinas Catfish Club and has served as president of the club for two terms. * Mac has been fishing on Lake Norman since 1981. * In 1986, he bought a house on the lake and he and his wife were weekend dwellers until 2000. * In 2000, Mac and his wife moved to their Lake Norman home, permanently. * Mac served the Lake Norman community by holding the former position of a Commissioner on the Lake Norman Marine Commission. * Mac ranked 10th in the Nation in 2005 as a Catfisherman through performance in Cabela's King Kat Classic.
