A group of friends and myself visited great southern outdoors for a hog hunt. My guide walked me to my stand as well as my dads stand so we would know where each other were. My dad shot a sow that weighed about 80 lbs and I shot a bore that weighed about 380lbs. I was nervous that my stand was a little close to the feeder. I was afraid the hogs would smell me since I was only about 30 yards away. The bore came in and never knew I was there. We had a great time and ate good while we were there. I’ll definitely go back
First off let me say that the logic is awesome The Rooms all nice and clear but the deer stands on other hand pretty rundown The first Stand they put me in was a box down on the ground The second Stand not very safe to be up in they brought me to a stand yesterday afternoon when I approached the Stand I refused to get in it and I set down on the ground for about 4 1/2 hours not seen any deer on three hunts I decided to cut my trip short I booked a three day hunt in only stood there a day and a half after paying 1,563.00 for 3 days and 136.00 far A hunting license and a 150.00 in fuel and 5 hours of driving each way I will never return here do not recommend
Great Southern Outdoors is the place to be whether you are looking to hunt deer, turkeys, hogs, or even partake in a quail hunt. Great Southern Outdoors is located in the heart of Bullock County, Alabama, which has a rich history of producing trophy sized game. Rex Pritchett and his staff are very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional, and they truly care about the customer having a remarkable time during the stay. During my turkey hunt, I was guided by Rex's son, Hunter Pritchett, who has a vast knowledge of the outdoors and was very courteous to me during my hunt. Our hunt was limited from a weekend storm rolling through Alabama; however, Great Southern Outdoors has ample opportunity to harvest any game you desire. The kitchen staff is fantastic and will have you asking for second helpings. The grounds are kept well maintenanced and the rooms are spot-on clean. I will definitely be going back, thank you Great Southern Outdoors!
I have made three trips to GSO --- 2 hunting and 1 fishing. The facilities are clean and comfortable. The staff is most helpful and the food delicious. The location is in a beautiful area of southern Alabama. I am already planning for additional trips.
I have hunted several places for Hogs & Deer, this by far was my best experience ever doing a hog hunt. Went out 3 times saw hogs each time. I was looking for a nice sausage hog which I was able to harvest. The guides were all professional and knowledgeable. The rooms are great and the food is the best if you like true southern cooking. Ms. Ginger the office manager is the greatest, she will answer any questions you may have. They are about family. If you want a place you can go alone or with your family this is a place to check out. You won't be disappointed.
