Big Game

This outfitter offers a package to match every hunter experience and skill level to be successful in an elk or mule deer hunt. Hunts beginning at only $ 1750 to the fully guided meals and lodging lodge hunt of only $ 3995.

We want you to have the time of your life on a Colorado Elk hunting trip. Our goal is for you to go home saying “I want to make this an annual hunting trip”. We are a small family owned hunting outfitting business that focuses on personalized service and lasting friendships. Our camp is not overcrowded and is a very fun environment. The owners are also the Colorado hunting guides and care about your satisfaction. We believe that the sport of hunting is just that, not killing. It requires hard work and dedication to get the results you want from a hunt. We will work hard for you to insure you leave with lasting memories and a smile on your face after your Colorado elk hunt.

We are an Elk Hunting Outfitter committed to hunting and the outdoors. As an Elk Hunting Outfitter our guides are excellent hunters who are well versed in bagging big game in Southwestern Colorado. We are devoted to hunting and enjoy sharing this incredible experience with others. Our guided elk hunts are private land or public land.

We spend numerous hours engaging in pre-season scouting to provide you with a positive experience. We offer spot and stalk, set up and call, as well as stand hunting over trails and watering holes. We provide transportation to and from airport, food, non-alcoholic beverages, lodging and bedding. Make sure you come prepared to have a great time in The San Juan Mountains. Practice you’re shooting and have your weapon sighted in!

Drop Camp

Drop Camp Semi Guided Hunts are Do It Yourself (DIY) Seven day elk hunting trips. You will ride deep into the San Juan Nation Forest on our horses, and dropped off at a wall tent already set up. We provide you with an oversized cot, sleeping pad, cooking utensils, cook stove, propane heater, and a wood stove. You need to bring food, clothes, sleeping bag, and some type of water purifying system or tablets, your hunting tag, and a camera to capture one of the best elk hunting experiences you will ever see. You can plan on one of the 7 days to pack in and another to pack out.

This Drop Camp Semi Guided Elk Hunt is $1745 per hunter.

Drop Camp Semi-Guided

A Semi-Guided hunt is an economical way for a group of hunters to get out in the back country and do some good Elk hunting with a little help from a guide. We will supply the food and 1 guide for 3 to 5 hunters. You will have to help the guide with cooking and cleaning up. This hunt is basically a Drop Camp Semi Guided with help. We will pack out all your meat and check on the camp every 2 days. The guide will help you find and take care of the Elk. This is a 5 day hunt. This is a great option for an experienced hunter but not necessarily an experienced Elk Hunter.

This Semi-Guided Elk Hunt is $2495 per hunter.

Mule Deer Hunting

Please don’t let the name fool you. We are more than just an Elk outfitter; we are also a premier Mule Deer outfitter. The nice thing for you is to hunt Mule Deer or Elk OR BOTH it is the same price. Due to the conservation efforts of the Colorado Division of Wildlife, Mule Deer hunts are draw only (which increase the quality of Mule Deer). The application deadline is the first week in April. We will have very limited landowner permits available. If you do not draw we will refund your deposit or apply it toward your land owner voucher (if available). Our Mule Deer hunts are archery, black powder, or rifle. Group discounts are available. Our bucks of the 150 to 170 class are not guaranteed but common with the potential of 190 to 200 class Mule Deer. We hunt Mule Deer several different ways, from spot-and-stock high country to stand hunting over watering holes and fields. Please call with any application questions, different units offer different hunting options. As you can see we are more than just an Elk Hunting Outfitter. On top of our Guided Elk Hunts we offer fully guide Mule Deer Hunts in Colorado. As an Elk Hunting Outfitter and a Mule Deer Hunting Outfitter we offer the potential for both trophy Mule Deer and Trophy Bull Elk with our guided elk hunts. We do NOT charge extra to hunt Mule Deer on top of your Guided Elk Hunt, as long as you draw the Mule Deer Tag.

Archery Hunt

Archery is always full of action. This season runs from the last weekend in August to the last weekend in September. At the beginning of the season the Elk are in small herds including small bachelor herds. They are relatively responsive to calling and normally not too far from water. Around the 10th of September they begin to enter the full rut. The bulls are beginning to become more aggressive and gathering their cows. Later in September the Elk are in full rut as the season comes to an end.

Throughout the archery season we hunt on the ground and move a lot. We call as well as spot and stalk. The best hunting is early in the morning and late in the evening. Throughout the midday the elk will usually bed up and are relatively inactive unless there is some type of bad weather. We will usually start out locating Elk and as they get close we will try to get behind you to call the Elk past you. We like the “top pin” shots. Just wait till you feel the adrenaline rush of a Bull Elk bugling in your face.

5 Day guided archery Elk hunts are 2 hunters per 1 guide and are $4000. This includes airport transportation, camp, food and non-alcoholic drinks. They start on Saturday and end on Wednesday.

These hunts use a general over the counter archery license and you will be hunting GMU071, GMU711, GMU072 or GMU073 depending on the outcome of our pre-season scouting trips.
