Big Game

There are roads on the property for a 4wd truck or a ATV. Record Class Deer and Antelope are taken here every year by skilled DIY hunters. You will be on prime private property that is rich with game and specially selected because of its high deer, elk or antelope density.

Roughly 1/3 of all elk taken in Colorado occurs in the northwest area of the state and this property is in the heart of it. The town of Craig and Hayden are prime centers of the highest elk density area of the state.  The area is a over the counter elk area but deer are on a draw only basis and have drawn out at this time.

We find that in DIY hunting all we can do is provide the game on the land but actual success numbers are very much controlled by the DIY Hunter and his skills. Simply said if you are a skilled hunter you will fill. If you are not a skilled hunter your odds may be less likely. There are way to increase your odds if you are new to hunting. Before coming to Colorado practice shooting and research hunting elk. If you have someone in your group that is very knowledgeable he may be very helpful in increasing your odds of filling your tags.

Northwest Colorado is famous for its large herds of elk and other big game such as mule deer and pronghorn antelope.  All of our elk hunts and big game hunting is fair chase only (no high fences here).  Our Colorado ranches are managed to provide you with superb big game hunting opportunities.

Colorado is home to 300,000 elk the most of any state, with the next closest being under 100,000. The largest concentration of these elk is in Northwest Colorado, where we hunt.

We will meet you the day before your hunt starts, show you the property, and help you plan your hunting strategies. By the way, we recommend 4-wheel drive vehicles; and ATVs are welcome. However, all vehicle travel is restricted to the two track roads, and the less driving the better to keep the animals on the property.

We book up quickly because we have a very high hunter return rate, probably a good many due to our high success rate. This is some of the finest Mule Deer and Elk hunting in the state. With a high success rate on Mule deer our planning, managing and available herds show we know what we are doing.

All of our trophy antelope hunts and big game hunting is fair chase only (no high fences here).  This Colorado farmland is managed to provide you with superb hunting opportunities.   For our archery antelope hunters we do provide pre-set blinds at established and scouted water holes.

We do receive a limited number of "landowner tags" each year for our hunting clients who prefer not to wait out the 5 year drawing process.  These landowner tags are available at an additional cost.
