HUNT MULE DEER, WHITETAIL DEER, PHEASANTS, TURKEY, DOVES OR VARMINTS AS A SMORGAS BOARD OF YOUR FAVORITE MEAL. IF YOU ENJOY HUNTING DEER AND PHEASANTS BRING YOUR RIFLE AND SHOTGUN.  ONCE YOU FILL YOUR DEER TAG HUNT PHEASANTS ON A DIFFERENT PROPERTY FOR A FEW DAYS WHILE YOU’RE BUDDIES THAT CAN’T SHOOT RIFLES AS WELL AS YOU SHOOT THEIR BUCK.

Located in rural South West Nebraska we are widely recognized as one of the best whitetails properties in the US, plus some exceptional Mule deer. The properties average 80% whitetail and 20% Mule deer as a whole but only two have enough mule deer anymore to be able to see more mule deer than whitetail while hunting. Our trophy bucks have been used mainly in television hunting shows for the past 3 years.  We have over 4100 acres and ALMOST 5 MILES of RIVERBED available hunting Deer, Turkey, Pheasants and Quail. Prices vary depending on what you're looking for, a “Do it yourself” (DIY) or if you are hunting Muzzleloader deer during the month of December which is semi-guided. This is because of the month of December the deer are moving, the first rut is over, food sources are being lost and the colder weather is requiring more feeding during the short days. This is difficult with short range weapons at times because the deer are in the open more.

I have multiple properties in a local area, some have stands, some not, others corn, alfalfa, wheat and other crops. River bottom or similar properties are available so that the deer have a number of feeding areas for year around nourishment, and enough bedding areas they can escape the weather and predators, sometimes hunters, so that their age meet the requirement that makes big bucks.

We feel most hunters want to spend their money on quality hunting not to have me lodge and feed them. I guarantee that is a smart decision because I am a better farmer, rancher and land steward than I will ever be a cook or an Inn keeper. Lodging and meals are available at neighboring towns to meet everyone’s price range and quality level. Therefore I will provide you with the phone number of the motels closest to the property location you will be hunting.

I have multiple properties in this area and will put you on the one that is best for the hunt you are looking for.

With our recent popularity on television and growth we have to limit the hunts we allow each year to the following per farm property. The first hunters to book have the pick of the litter so to speak for the farm that they would like to hunt. Each property has specific restrictions in place so that big bucks are common not a rarity. Most farms have approximately the number of hunters per year. In light of this if your group fills a farms allotment you will be able to book the complete hunt for the following year as long as the property owner agrees with the booking. One factor of our pricing is that properties that average larger bucks will be at a higher price than the ones that consistently provide smaller bucks. All of our properties provide bucks or I wouldn’t put you there. Of course we allow a limited number of hunters on each property to allow them to continue to provide the quality deer that they do provide. All bookings are on a first come first serve basis with the deposit receipt being the determination factor. I am sorry if the quality of deer are that you are looking for is booked when you contact me but we are strict about our hunter quotas per property so the hunt will be a success and the hunters that follow you in the coming years.

All of our hunts of course are free ranging hunts and to hold the deer in a particular area we mush entice them with natural and food crops, cover, water and habitat. This combination on that plus the area genes are what make each property have the character of the deer and their antlers that provide what you are looking for.

Even though we live in some rough and rugged country, we are only 20 minutes from hotels and restaurants. We are 3 hours from DIA and 1 hour south of I-80.

These hunting properties are located, north West of McCook Nebraska this property in Chase County, in the Frenchman hunting Unit or unit 8 west. Last year this unit sold out of Mule deer Licenses by June 16th but the whitetail tags were available throughout the year. This is in the Mule Deer Conservation area so Mule deer Does are highly protected in an effort to build the mule deer population. In doing so a mule deer buck licenses is legal for a mule deer buck, whitetail doe or a whitetail doe. A whitetail buck license is legal for only a whitetail buck or doe.  Whitetail Doe hunts may be available at a reduced rate if approved by the landowner. The Mule Deer Does are on a protected list with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and I don’t allow any of them to be shot on my properties. In addition since it is legal to take two bucks per hunter the second buck regardless of whether it is a whitetail or mule deer can be taken at a reduced rate as approved by the land owner. No Mule Deer Does can be shot whatsoever.

Hunter success is usually 75-85% on mule deer and whitetail bucks combined which is high so we control the number of deer taken to manage the property for quality aged bucks.

Turkey includes Merriam’s and Rio Grande Turkey’s on separate properties although there are some properties that have both. 30 Years ago when turkeys were released in South Western Nebraska there was a controversy as to which turkey would do the best in the arid, timber, brush, creek bottom mixtures in SW Nebraska. Finally after much debate both the Merriam’s and the Rio Grande were released together “to let the birds decide which habitat is better for the turkeys themselves. Both populations flourished. In fact it is not uncommon to find the Rio Grande and The Merriam’s Turkey in the same river bottom. In 30 years some have cross breed but some have not and all I can say it is a factor of opportunity and the love factor for lack of a better answer.

In Nebraska you will not be able to buy a license at the local Wal-Mart or Sporting Goods store, only at a district or office headquarter, if they are open, which they usually have a 8-5 Monday through Friday hours schedule. Because of this it is best to purchase your licenses with a credit card over the internet and print it out on your home computer before you leave home. You can get a conservation Stamp and any other license except deer from Wal-Mart.

The semi-Guided hunt includes hunting assistance but does not include, animal cleaning and packing to a vehicle location and loading it into the vehicle. He will also instruct the hunter on way to improve their success when partaking on a DIY hunt. The lodging is the responsibility of the hunter.

DIY hunters will receive a map of the hunting property advising of the property boundaries. In addition it is the option of the landowner to point out water and feed sources, tree stands if any, and where he has seen the game lately and historically. Hunter will sign a liability release before hunting on the property.

Hunter is responsible for any actions taken outside of the property boundaries. At that point no refund will be issued for the hunt. We take safety, trespassing and game violations seriously so that we can continue to hunt for many more years in the future.

The landowner has the right to terminate the hunt for the hunter if his actions are unsafe, or in violation of Nebraska Game and Parks Commission laws. This includes but is not limited to trespassing on property outside of the hunt area, shooting an animal that cannot be taken on the hunter’s license for example. If you wound an animal and it crosses the fence on to another landowners property call the land owner that you are hunting on immediately and he will advise what action to take depending on what animal it is and where the animal is located.

Hunter safety is a must!

Licensing Detail:

This is in the special Mule Deer Conservation area.

The mule deer buck tag is available for 12 hours over the internet when the draw begins at 1PM Central time on July 7 usually(An update is available in June on the exact time and date). This is a good license because you can shoot a Mule Deer Buck, a whitetail buck, or a whitetail Doe on that license.

When they run out you can get a whitetail buck license which is good for a whitetail buck or doe. They are usually available for days after the draw begins. I recommend that you get the Mule deer Buck license so that you can shoot either a mule deer or a whitetail buck that you see. More details on this can be found on the Nebraska Game & Parks Office.
