HOME OF THE LARGEST 8 POINT KILLED IN THE UNITED STATES IN 2008

We hunt on 13,000 acres of private land in and around the Minneapolis, Kansas area. We are located about 25 miles north of Salina, Kansas off of interstate I-135. We hunt in units 7 and 8 on private land in Ottawa, Cloud, and Saline counties. We have over 250 ladder stands, 27 box blinds, and lots of ground blinds in wood-lots along river and creek bottoms, with crops weaving in and out of these bottoms. We can pick you up at the airport for a small fee, if arrangements are made ahead of time.

2011 Rates

Muzzleloader6 day hunt$2,495.00

Rifle5 day hunt$2,495.00

Bow5 day hunt$2,495.00

I require a 50% deposit up front to secure your spot. Hurry and book your hunt before April and save $250.00!! Due to rising costs of everything I’m forced to raise the hunt price to $2,750.00 but won’t until April 30th.

These hunts include accommodations in our new lodge with all the comforts of home. It has 4 bathrooms, 3 fully furnished kitchens, separate bedrooms, and a processing room with freezers and a walk in cooler to take care of your meat. You shoot it and we take care of the rest! Just bring your own food and hunting gear. All the linens and bedding are furnished. Transportation can be provided if needed. We have extra 4 wheel drive trucks here for hunters to use if necessary. We will drop you off and pick you up from the stand locations if needed as well. I feel strongly that our success is due to the fact that I’m very serious about wind direction. We go over stand location and wind direction twice a day with each hunter on a one on one basis. This is done so that I know what the hunter is seeing on the farm each time he sets. We then make a plan to get the hunter in a stand with the correct wind for each hunt. We may move the hunter as well to a new farm depending on his information and his feelings toward the deer movement that he has seen.

NEW FOR: SELF GUIDED BOW HUNTS

We are now offering a select number of self guided bow hunts on some of the same great land that we lease. These properties are some that we have had leased or owned and managed for several years. We are not able to offer very many hunts this way but due to the economy we decided to do a few hunts this way to offer a reduced price hunt. You take care of your own lodging in the local motel or what ever works for you. We will help you get the arrangements set up. We provide aerial photos of the farms and discuss wind direction, bedding areas, and everything we know about the deer patterns and travel routes where you are going to hunt. There are treestands already set up on these farms as well! Or if you want, you can bring your own just in case you need to move.

We are located in the heart of Kansas. We offer some of the best upland bird, whitetail deer and turkey hunting in Kansas.

We have archery, black powder and rifle hunts for Whitetail Deer. Our country has a lot of cropland, with woodlots and wooded creek bottoms mixed in. We have a good deer population, with some very nice bucks. In the just ended our deer hunters had 80-85% opportunity on 140+ plus bucks, with a number of really nice bucks taken. Our spring turkey hunters also did very well.

Archery season takes place during the pre-rut and goes through the rut and post-rut. Rifle season generally starts at the tail end of the rut/post rut. All bowhunting is done from tree stands overlooking trails leading to and from bedding/feeding areas. During rifle season you will generally hunt mornings and evenings from tree stands or good ground blinds.

We also have excellent pheasant and quail hunting. North Central Kansas generally has great habitat for upland birds, and our properties are no exception.

We have a brand new, fully furnished lodge that we built in 2001, with all the comforts of home, washer/dryer, satellite TV, etc. Meals are the responsibility of the hunter, and we make available to you the kitchen/cooking facilities in our lodge at no extra charge.

We have two commercial airports less than 3 hours away in Kansas City and Wichita, with airport pick-up readily available.

Turkey Hunts

In Kansas Turkeys come in large numbers, and the best part is you can get two of them. The season generally runs from the 2nd week of April through the end of May. You can buy your license over the counter, thru the mail, or over the phone with credit card. The license is $30.50 for nonresident and you need to have a hunting license, which is $72.00 for nonresidents.

We have numerous turkeys on our farms and they have been virtually un-hunted as we have concentrated our efforts primarily on deer and pheasant hunts. We offer our turkey hunts to you as semi-guided or fully guided on great land with lots of birds.

Anyone born on or after July 1, 1957 must have completed a hunter safety course to purchase a hunting license in Kansas. Every hunter must have a valid hunting license and deer permit while hunting deer. Kansas no longer has Landowner Transferrable Deer Tags. You must apply in the draw for your license/tag. Nonresident deer tag applications must be in by April 30. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to book a hunt and confirm your hunt dates.
