The hunting deal of a lifetime while they last! Bull elk hunt only $2795 but that is not all. If you want another elk, cow only it is only $395, or a buck or doe deer, or a buck or doe antelope. All hunts are guided and require the appropriate Colorado Hunting license. Get with us before the April 5 drawing deadline for all of the tags. Sometimes there are left over’s but it is not always a sure thing, the hunt is.

Camper Motor Home Tent specials!  If you own a camper, motor home or tent this is a hunt for you. High success hunting on private ground and no lodging cost, it can get any better than this. You will be guided hunting on private land ranches in the big Game honey Hole of Colorado. These properties cover GMU’s 131, 15, 03, and 214 in the Craig, Steamboat, Hayden, and Oak Creek, Colorado. But wait it gets even better but it will be limited. You can hunt Elk, Deer and Antelope. Depending on what season you hunt you can hunt deer and elk at the same time. These are a 40,000 head of elk waiting for you and your rifle. This NW corner of the state has more elk than anywhere else in the world! Roughly 1/3 of all elk taken in Colorado occurs in the northwest area of the state and this property is in the heart of it.

If you are not an elk hunter and just want a good mule deer for a limited time it will be available for only as a guided hunt for only $895 per day. The same for antelope, these are buck or doe hunts. Hunters must have their own licenses.

The town of Craig and Hayden and Steamboat are prime centers of the highest elk density area of the state.  The area is a over the counter elk area so as long as you put a deposit in while we still have space you will hunt elk. This is a high density Mule deer area also with some huge timber bucks taken each year as they migrate from the high country down to the sage brush flats. You hunting habitat is diverse so that the elk, deer and antelope always have the habitat they need to stay local. Many never leave the ranches. There are pastures, timber, ponds, elk wallows, and hayfields over 5000 guided acres of private ground. To not over hunt the area and not spook out the elk we limit the hunters per season to 8 so you will want to make your reservation as soon as possible.

The big game application deadline is April 5th so you will want to get your deposit in for the season you want to hunt before you put in so that you will have a place to hunt when you draw. If you don’t draw the date your deposit is in for we will book you for the 2nd or 3rd season where you can get an elk tag over the counter but there won’t be any deer over the counter unless there are left over’s after the draw. Last year the available deer tags was dropped dramatically so it is difficult to tell what the availability will be after the draw is over.

This outfitter will even throw in a guided private land antelope if you booked a deer or elk hunt with him.

I asked this outfitter to provide the hunter with the lowest cost hunt possible, quality guides with 20 years experience for a special guided hunt with a high success rate on private ranch land. The lodging is the last thing a successful hunter worries about. Put the money into the hunt not the lodging. In doing so he offered to allow the hunters to bring their own campers, camp trailers and motor homes, even tents if they want. They will be able to plug into power at the ranch just be certain that the toilets are self contained. That seems like a very reasonable request to me. If you want to stay in Steamboat, Maybell, Oak Creek, Hayden or Craig you can if you wish.

An elk or a deer hunt alone is $2995. If you want to add a deer or an elk so you can hunt both at the same time it is only another $395. An extra cow license hunt is only $395 as long as you have the original $2995 paid. In Colorado in this area there are so many elk that you are allowed to not just shoot one elk but as long as one is a cow and you hunt it on private land you can take two elk. Simply put if one is good, than two is better. For muzzleloader and archery hunters see me regarding the hunt. I can put two hunters on one guide but if there is only one hunter I can’t justify a guide unless two can group up.

If you want to hunt Antelope at the same time it is only $395 additional. This is a easy shoot, or hunt should I say. The owner has maps of the property and fence lines along with the access roads. With a pair of binoculars you can spot the antelope then all it takes is a good stalk and you will be loading up antelope. Antelope hunting has the highest success rate of any animal anywhere.

Since there is only a short time that the antelope season is open during deer and elk season if you want to hunt antelope alone it is only $395. This area has taken record class antelope in the past and the wet Winter/Spring has provided the moisture for good antler growth for all three animals.

You will see elk and deer every day on hay meadows and timber edges with aspen on 5 different ranches. We hunt where the concentration is the highest and have an extremely high kill rate because of all of the opportunities to shoot deer and elk not just see them. We have local elk that are here all year and we have the migrating herds that move through the ranches all the time. We are here to get Deer; Elk and Antelope tags filled not take your morning coffee to you in bed. If this is your kind of hunt then come on in, and book while there is space left, it won’t last long. All hunting transportation is furnished and this area during this season usually runs a 99.9% success rate on Cow elk and 25% or better on good bulls depending on the shooters in camp. If we have hunters that practice with their rifles before the season the success rate increases dramatically. Our guides can just put you on the deer and elk, the shooting is all up to you.

The area supports local and migrating herds of deer and elk so the locals are constantly mixing with the migrating herds for good shooting.

Worried about meat processing and getting all of your game back home? This is the only outfitter that I know that has a complete meat processing facility on the property. This shows the outfitter drive to provide everything a hunter needs at the lowest price possible in the number one are of the state that has the highest elk population of all 50 states. For example Colorado has 300,000 elk, where number 2 and 3, Wyoming and Montana are down at a measly 100,000 each. The rest are lower than and require intense drawing and points available and a long path of payments to get a tag. One when calculated out take 5-10 years and $1200 in administration fees before you have the honor of buying their tag.

It is one hour from Steamboat Springs Ski Area and 45 minutes from Hayden Airport which has jet flights by major carriers. No matter which ranch you will be guided, with no meals or lodging included but available in the town less than 10 miles away.

Drawing License Odds for Buck & Bull Antelope, Deer and Elk

The success rate above is from information collected by the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

It reflects the success rate for the whole unit including the public land which is much lower than the private land you will be hunting. In fact public land hunting pressure is intense enough they actually push more elk, and deer on to our private property than they ever see.

Hunting Seasons

Archery 08/27-09/25 or 30 depending on the ranch hunted Elk, Deer

Muzzleloader 10/10-18 Elk, Deer

1st rifle 10/15-19 Elk

2nd rifle 10/22-30 Elk, Deer

3rd rifle 11/05-30 Elk, Deer

4nd rifle 10/16-20 Elk

Late Cow Rifle 10/15-19 Elk

Antelope Season Dates don’t follow the above deer and elk structure but there are dated that they cross and you could hunt Elk, Deer and Antelope during the same trip. The antelope deer and elk may not be on the same ranch because of the different type of habitat on each ranch that is why the Game Management Units (GMU) are different. The easiest way is to tell us what you want to do and we will make sense of Colorado complex hunting regulations. The regulations try to be as simple as possible but with 5 ranches in four different Colorado GMU’s and 3 different animals each with buck, bull, doe or cow the combinations can be complex. We are here to help, just give us a call.
