We offer hunts on National forest & BLM lands. We also have a few openings each year for Private Ranch Elk & Deer Hunts.

I also operate a Guide and Outfitting School in July. This is a hand on detailed instructional course. It includes classroom instruction with lots of in the field work. My school is designed to help you become a big game guide. If you do not desire to become a hunting professional this course still offers very valuable instruction. It will develop your knowledge of big game hunting and allow you to do self guided western hunts with confidence.

This hunt takes place in the heart of the Uncompahgre National Forest, units 61 and 62, two of Colorado's premier trophy areas.

Our base camp consists of very comfy cabin accommodations with propane heat, lights, and hot showers. We utilize 3 cabins for sleeping and 1 for central dining. Our camp cook is excellent and everyone looks forward to his down-home meals.

The hunts are conducted from 4-wheel drive trucks and on foot. We have a full-time packer/wrangler and horses to transport your kill to camp. We can make arrangements for care of your trophy and meat upon your request.

Some super calibers for this hunt are 30-06, 300 Win Mag, or 338 Mag. Black bear are abundant on the plateau as a result of the closing of spring bear seasons and a bear hunt can be added to any elk hunt with no charge until harvest. We supply all necessary license applications for these hunts.

This hunt takes place in the heart of the Uncompahgre National Forest, GMU061 and GMU062, two of Colorado's premier trophy areas.  GMU061 is a very restricted trophy unit requiring 10-13 points to draw.

On the other hand the adjacent GMU062 requires no points and has a lot of good area to hunt above the crowds. We also have some private land in GMU069 and GMU084 in our Private land package

We are surrounded by big deer country and 61 are extremely good and 70% of the hunters draw with no points, and the one with 1 point are a slam dunk. In addition GMU069 and GMU084 are excellent deer units as the Boone and Crockett book can attest the many, many listings in Mesa County.

Antelope requires 2 points in GMU069 and GMU084 and you will be hunting on private land.

Our bear hunting is all on private land in GMU069and GMU084 it is a fall hunt watching water holes and highly desirable feeding areas along with varmint call if needed.

This area is as good as it gets for big mountain lions.  Our high deer population has kept the lions close to the many wintering herds of deer. Because of that the DOW has allotted a high number of tags so we usually run out of season or good cat hunting conditions to end the season because we never reach the cap on the lion’s hunts. Most of our hunting is in GMU057 GMU581, GMU058, GMU0581 and GMU086 but we can roam into others if needed.

As for sheep unit 12 has some good ones and the access in adequate.  Units S9 and S17 are good also but the access is a little more difficult. I am licenses in almost ½ of the sheep units which gives me S6, S10, S11, S12 and more.

As far as goats it is going to be high altitude but the actual hunt is easier. I usually hunt in G1, G2, G3, G4 and G13 but others are available.  On these hunts camps are as close as we can be to the game is the best way to explain it.

The Month of September is a very special time in the Colorado high country - BUGLE SEASON-. The September Archery and Muzzleloader hunts give us the opportunity to match wits and calling skills with the rutting Bull Elk. This is one hunt that all big game enthusiasts should experience at least once in a lifetime.

Game at this time of year is normally concentrated in the higher alpine meadows, and numerous trophy bulls are taken each year as they answer the challenge of skillful callers.

Archery Elk Licenses can be purchased upon arrival. All Colorado Deer Licenses are subject to draw.

Muzzleloading Elk and Deer Licenses are limited and subject to a drawing. We provide the necessary application forms, and the deadline for applying is April.

Our Colorado Antelope hunts produce some super bucks each year with many heads in the 14"-16" class. This hunt is conducted on private ranch land. The terrain is broken and spotting and stalking is the method used to hunt. There is a draw for the license.

We offer premier mountain lion hunts on private property and on BLM land in several of Colorado's most heavily populated units. This hunt takes place from November 25-March 31. Licenses are unlimited and can be purchased upon arrival. We use 4-wheel drive trucks and ATV's to cut tracks. Our well-trained pack of hounds will tree your lion and hold him at bay. Success is high and our clients harvest many record book lions each year.

Black bear hunts are conducted during the regular rifle Elk and Deer seasons in October. Licenses for these hunts can be purchased over the counter. We also have a Sept. bear hunt that is subject to a drawing. Our bear hunts are conducted on the Uncompahgre Plateau. This is Colorado's heaviest concentration of Black Bear. Success runs high on 200-400 lb. bears.

Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat hunts are Colorado's premier high country hunting experience.

Physical fitness is an absolute must to participate in a hunt for sheep or goat. Our clients have enjoyed near 100% success to date. We know the country. We understand sheep and goats.

Licenses are limited and subject to a drawing. We will provide applications to clients. Drawing deadline is in April. We operate hunts in numerous units for Sheep and Goat. We can provide info on each area and help you decide on a unit that will meet your desires for trophy quality and physical difficulty.
