Trophy 6x6 Elk Hunts – Guaranteed!

Hunt dates: August 20th to March 15th we guarantee a good shot at a 6x6 Elk or we will invite you to come back and hunt for free!

“In the distance you hear the bugling of a bull elk and start with your own bugling to bring your prey closer. Shortly the encounter becomes reality as you stand a mere 50 yards away from the most

magnificent animal you have ever seen. As you ready your rifle, your muscles tighten…your heart starts to race…you fire. The animal turns to run, but it’s too late. After a short battle, it accepts its fate....”

Our regular season elk hunts are for hunters choice of any 6x6 Royal, 7x7 Imperial or bigger! We limit the number of hunters so that all hunters should take home trophy bulls 350 to 400+ gross points.

The burden is on our guides to put you onto a good trophy, if you don’t see the Elk you came for, you are not happy, we don’t get paid and we’re not happy. However, the choice is ultimately up to the hunter, we won’t tell you to shoot but if you like him, take him, if not we will carry on and find another bull.

The terrain consists of mixed forest and rolling hills, which is easily walked and quad accessible. Hunting is done from raised box blinds (with heaters) located in the forest or the edge of fields. There is room for 2 to 3 people in each blind. Each hunter will be given a two-way radio so they can be in contact with their guide at all times.

We will cape out your animal, prep the antlers and freeze the hide and meat for transportation home. In most cases hunters take their antlers, cape and meat home with themselves as extra baggage. Taxidermy work and meat processing are not included but we can recommend a local taxidermist and meat processor.

Hunting methods are flexible - Rifle, Muzzleloader, Cross bow and Archery can be all used to take your trophy. If bringing a rifle into Canada a firearm declaration form is required by Canada Customs.

Management Elk Hunts - 5x5 point Bulls of any size are available on occasion as part of our effort to maintain trophy Elk hunting. Inquire. We want to have all your questions answered before you get here, so there are no surprises.

Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunts

Open range or preserve -Saskatchewan, home of the world record. We guarantee a good shot at a 10 pt. Buck or we will invite you to come back and hunt for free! Our regular season whitetail deer hunts are for hunter’s choice of any buck and the ranch is loaded with a large number of 10 point

bucks or bigger with scores of 150 to 200 points.  20% of bucks taken last year scored over 170 points.

The hunt Includes:

License and/or permit, services of guide, 4 days of hunting, room & board at ranch, field care of trophy, skinning, and prep of trophy & meat for shipping.

Hunt dates: Aug. 20th to Jan. 20th

We will cape out your animal, prep the antlers and freeze the hide and meat for transportation home. In most cases hunters take their antlers, cape and meat home with themselves as extra baggage. Taxidermy work and meat processing are not included but we recommend your local taxidermist because the transporting is easier as a skull, antlers and Cape then a completely mounted animal which take so much space to ship and can be considered fragile. I recommend that you take the head, horns and cape as an extra luggage bag so that when you get home it is with you.

Meat is a different story. The meat can be processed locally and again as paying for extra luggage it is more cost efficient to take it home frozen and wrapped. If there is too much meat than perhaps just the choice cuts as the back straps. We can donate the remainder of the meat.

Hunting methods are flexible - Rifle, Muzzleloader, Cross bow and Archery can be all used to take your trophy. If bringing a rifle into Canada a firearm declaration form is required by Canada Customs even on a muzzleloader.

Management Whitetail Hunts

8 point bucks are available regularly as part of our effort to maintain trophy Whitetail.

Timber Wolf

100% Success and We “Guarantee” it!

Our Wolf are taken from blinds over bait, with patience required. Wolves have incredible senses and are extremely cautious to anything out of the ordinary. So patience is key to success. Native to the area we have grey, black and white color phase wolves in our resident pack. All colors have been successfully taken with rifle and bow. Although it is a challenge with a bow, the use of portable stands, blinds and predator calls make it possible. If using a bow we recommend September or early October to avoid the cold weather and to be successful. The onus is on our guides to put you onto a good Wolf, if we don’t, you are not happy, we don’t get paid and we’re not happy. However, when you see a Wolf, the choice is ultimately up to you, we won’t tell you to shoot but if you like what you see, take him, if not, we will wait for another.

Includes:

License and/or permit*, services of guide, 4 days of room & board at ranch, field care of trophy and prep of trophy for shipping.

Dates: September 15th to March 15th

*A cites permit is required to have your wolf pelt shipped out of Canada, which we will obtain for you. The Cites permit is free of charge but does take 6 to 8 weeks to process.

A local taxidermist is available to professionally mount your trophy

Trophy Plains Buffalo & Woods Buffalo

We have two species of Buffalo or “Bison”.

The open prairie Plains Buffalo and the forest dwelling Woods

Buffalo.

The Plains buffalo has a more rounded hump, heavier build, rounded head and is the more common of the two. The Woods Buffalo is taller, has a higher more defined hump, triangular shaped head and requires a Cites export permit as it is endangered. Both species are huge and will grow to be 2000 pounds or more. Easily agitated and dangerous when approached closely hunters are advised to stay back. Trophy Woods Buffalo* Hunt - All-inclusive Package

Hunting Methods

Hunting methods are flexible – Archery, Cross bow, Muzzleloader and Rifle are all possible to harvest your game with us.

Bow Hunting

All bow hunters are welcome as they represent a large percentage of our visitors. If bow hunting,

bring at least 12 arrows with sturdy broad heads. I have had many hunters protest that they don't

need 12 arrows. You don't if you are just hunting elk. However, many hunters want to go after

other game once they arrive and find they used most of their arrows on elk. An archery range is

also available.

Black Powder

We welcome the hunter using primitive methods. Most black powder guns will work well for nearly all of our animal hunts.

Rifle Hunting

High powered rifle hunters are encouraged to bring a .243, .270, .300, or 30-06 caliber rifle with shells. For larger animals like elk and extremely tough animals like the wild boar, we recommend a .270 caliber rifle or larger.

We maintain a rifle range on site for sighting in and making any other necessary adjustments prior to your hunt.

Firearms

Canadian Customs - All firearms brought into Canada will be inspected. From a practical standpoint, this simply means somebody in the Canadian Customs area of the airport will open your gun case and physically look at your gun to ensure it is not loaded.

This is not a problem so long as you do not have a handgun of any type (strictly prohibited in Canada) or a fully-auto long gun (also prohibited). You must declare any firearms you are bringing in.

Canadian Customs officers will record the serial numbers on your guns when you enter Canada.

There also will be a $25 (Canadian) fee required to buy a "Firearms Declaration ", basically a temporary license or permit to take your gun in and out of Canada.

Flying or Driving

If flying your destination will be Regina, the Capital city of Saskatchewan. We will pick you up at the airport for the 2.5 hour drive to the ranch or you may rent a vehicle at the airport. As soon as you have confirmed your flights make sure to send us your itinerary. If you are flying your own plane, depending on the landing strip distance required, you can land at the Municipal Airport near Yorkton, about 30 miles from the ranch.

Accommodations

Stay in our clean and comfortable Rustic Lodge. The lodge accommodations are fully furnished, including a spacious dining and kitchen area complete with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and all utensils. There is plenty of room with two full bathrooms and 5 bedrooms (4 double, 4

single beds). Fresh bed linens and towels are also provided. The lodge also has two large decks with plenty of seating, a big bar-b-que and fire heated hot tub for your use and enjoyment.

Other possible but limited hunts as available

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How about a hybrid Big Horn Sheep, you can’t get them anywhere else but right here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mule Deer Hunts

Forked antlers, a bounding leap instead of a run and black tipped tail set the Mule deer apart from its cousin the Whitetail. The big bodied mule deer bucks are truly an impressive sight during the rut in November. These limited hunts for both open range and preserve bucks.

Includes:

License and/or permit, services of guide, 3 days of hunting, room & board at ranch, field care of trophy and prep of trophy & meat for shipping.

Hunt dates: Aug. 20th to Jan. 20th

Caribou Hunts

Caribou Bulls possessing huge curved antlers with 15 to 40 points is a sight not to be easily forgotten. In rut from mid-September thru mid-October Bulls are very aggressive to anything or anyone in their way and have put many hunters on the run or up a tree.

Trophy Caribou Hunt - All inclusive Packages

Includes: License and/or permit, services of guide, 3 days of hunting, room

& board at ranch, field care of trophy and prep of trophy & meat for shipping.

Hunt dates: August 20th to January 20th

Duck & Goose Hunting

We provide room and board at our lodge for resident and non-resident waterfowl hunters on self-guided hunts. The use of an outfitter or guide service is not required to hunt waterfowl in our area.

With generous per day limits hunters can harvest up to 28 Geese and 18 ducks per day. With limits

like these, small group shoots of 100+ birds are not uncommon. Hunters will encounter a variety of birds ranging from huge Canadians and sub-species to mallards, pintail, teal and other puddle ducks.

Literally hundreds of thousands of ducks and geese migrate over and land in the local grain fields to feed each fall. Returning to the same field until the crop is gone or chased off. Past hunters have been very successful field hunting using lay down blinds and a mixture of Canada and duck decoys. In addition to calling use of a mechanical Roto duck has really brought the birds in. Most land owners are more than happy to grant hunter access to their lands to stop the waterfowl from damaging their crops. With most grain farms being 2000 acre+ in size, hundreds of thousands of acres of grain farm land is accessible just by asking.

The waterfowl hunting season is mid September to mid December with the month of October being the best in our area. A non-resident waterfowl license is around $140. More information can be obtained from the current year Saskatchewan Hunting & Fishing Guide at www.environment.gov.sk.ca or contact the Yorkton Ducks Unlimited office at (306) 782-2108.

To maximize your trip combo hunts are available with any of the other hunts we provide.

We do not provide guiding services to waterfowl hunters. Dogs are welcome and we can recommend a local meat processor to prepare your birds.
