MULE DEER
The Mule Deer Herd in our Area is back!!
All of Colorado went through a drop in the number of Mule Deer and the size of Bucks in the 1990's due to a combination of two major factors: Increase in Predators, particularly Coyotes, Mountain Lions and Bears; Over Hunting with unlimited licenses being sold. Colorado Wildlife Commission implemented the "Limited License Draw" several years ago which has provided for a Great Recovery in the Quantity and Quality of Mulie Bucks in the past several years! With the Draw, we had only a few Hunters that Drew a license and several that did put a Priority on Hunting Elk. We had several very large Bucks missed in Muzzleloader and Archery seasons. Pictured below and in the Mule Deer Gallery are Bucks taken in our area and by our Hunters in previous years.
Elk
There is no come back needed, the population is healthy and continues to grow every year no matter what we do. It is ideal elk country and the elk population proves it.
The Main Lodge with adjacent Log Home offering 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a large den plus commercial kitchen and dining area seating over 20 people. In addition, we provide a meat processing area with lights, tables, sinks, electric saw and winch; plus a cooler/locker with hanging rails to hold over 25 deer and elk.
The Decks and Porches on all sides of the lodge are great for viewing the mountains and wildlife. Some family groups love our Log Home. Offering 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a sitting area with refrigerator, and a large front porch, this provides great accommodations & privacy for groups up to twelve. Let us know your preference.
There are Recreational vehicle hook-ups. Horseshoe pits, volleyball, sport shooting, plus ride the Ranch on our gentle horses. We have boats available for use on Mira Monte Reservoir and the beautiful high mountain "Woods Lake".
Let's go inside the Eagle Inn
The large den is great for socializing; playing games; watching TV & videos; or gazing out the windows at the wildlife and beautiful mountains.
Heavy hors d'oeuvres await you while dinner is being prepared. A time for tales of the day's adventures!! Commercial grade kitchen allows our cooks to prepare great meals for large groups!
Guests with special dietary needs or preferences can let us know when contracting and we will attempt to meet all requirements.
All meals are scheduled around your daily activity schedule. Plus, for day trips away from the Ranch we prepare a picnic lunch.
