DRIVE-IN DROP CAMPS

Archery, Muzzleloader and Rifle (Elk and/or Deer) 

2-6 people - $1195 per person 

Game packing not included 

 

 

This outfitter can hunt where the game is and where the big ones go. You will be hunting in 1 of 12 separate GMU’s in Colorado private and public land as the 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 42, 131, 201, 211, 421, 521, Operating in the White River, Gunnison, Grand Mesa and Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests under special use permits from the U.S.F.S. and permits from B.L.M.  Hunting Elk, Mule Deer and Bear during the Archery, Muzzleloader, and Rifle big game seasons. He is also Bonded, insured, along with first Aid & CPR certified for your safety.

 

If you have hunted many times before and don’t need a guide but do need horses to drop you back a drop camp where the big bucks and bulls stay because all of the blaze orange isn’t behind every tree back there then he can do that in places where he has scouted or hunted in the past and knows what is there and when to be there.

 

Horseback Rifle Guided Hunt (Elk and/ or Deer): 

 Includes 1 guide for every 2 to 3 hunters, we provide meals. We also provide rifle scabbards for muzzleloaders and rifles, horses, cots & pads to sleep on, wall tent, wood stove for heat & lanterns for light during your stay. We also take game to processor so meat can be processed. Hunter needs to bring weapon, sleeping bag and personal gear. Hunters for this hunt will pack in on Friday and pack out Thursday. NOTE: All pack-in hunts are 7 day trips -2 day pack-in/pack-out days and 5 days of actual hunting 

 

Guided Archery and Muzzleloader Hunts for Deer and Elk: 

Archery elk- either sex tags are sold over the counter. Hunts are conducted by calling and stalking and the use of some ground blinds. Mule deer tags are by draw only. Muzzleloader hunts in this area are conducted for elk and mule deer by calling and stalking and ground blinds. Muzzleloader elk tags are obtained by the statewide drawing for bull elk. This tag will take at least 3 points to draw.  

 

Trophy Elk and Mule Deer Hunts:  

We offer trophy bull elk hunting in GMU 1, 2, 10, 201. These areas tags are hard to draw. Elk takes 18+ points and mule deer takes 12 or more. In these areas expect to see bulls 300 up to 390 class B/C bulls. We also offer trophy mule deer hunts in hunts in these units. In the past 160 plus bucks to be seen on this hunt and could be yours for the taking.

 

 

Drop Camp Hunts:

We pack you and your gear into a remote location by horseback, where there is a good habitat and game population. All camping gear is supplied -- tent, cots, pads, cooking gear, etc. All you need is food, sleeping bag, license and weapon of choice. Firewood, water and game packing is included. Camps are setup for 2 to 6 people. The full trip entails 7 days, including pack 'in and out'. We limit you to gear of 70 lbs for timely packing. 

Hunting reservations are on first come, first served basis. A 50% of hunt cost is required for deposit (cashier's check, money order or personal check) with a signed contract. The remaining balance/ final payment is due 45 days prior to arrival (cashier's check, money order or personal check). Upon booking you will be supplied a list of gear to bring for the trip, directions to hunt area and registration forms. Advance Booking: This requires a $400.00 deposit per person to 'hold spot' with a signed contract. Balance of deposit is due January 5th, year of hunt. Balance of hunt is due 45 days prior to arrival. All deposits are non-refundable.

BEAR HUNTS

Hunt bear during your elk hunt with the appropriate license. Trophy fee of $500 if you harvest. Licenses are sold as 'over the counter with caps.'

 

LICENSING INFORMATION (deadline to apply is first week in April) 

Archery Elk: Units 42, 131, 421 & 521 can be purchased over the counter. 

Muzzleloader Bull Elk: Deadline first week in April (takes 3 points). Draw by unit. 

Rifle Elk: 1st season limited draw, 2nd & 3rd season over the counter -- unlimited, 4th season limited draw 

Mule Deer: All licenses in Colorado are by draw.

6-day antelope guided archery hunt: includes guide, transportation to hunt area, 3 meals a day, lodging in our home & delivery to processor. Hunt dates: 8/15/11 to 8/20/11. Clients arrive at our home 3:00pm the day before hunt & leave the next morning after the hunt. $2995.00 each.

 NOTE: 

***Trophy unit 10 landowner voucher for archery either sex elk valid 8/27 to 9/25/11 anywhere in this unit. This license takes an out of state person 18-20 years to draw. Voucher only $10,000.  

I have unit 10 cow elk landowner vouchers for 4th rifle season (11/16--11/20)  $300.00 each

Also unit 10 late cow elk landowner vouchers valid for December 1 to January 15, 2012 $300.00 ea.   Prices are for voucher only. 

I have openings in all weeks of my archery seasons in the mountains. This area is over the counter tags. 

5-day guided hunt, 7 day trip = $3000.00 each. Unguided drop camps also available.

 We have available to us (1) Trophy Pronghorn Antelope voucher for Colorado season date Oct. 1-7, 2011. This is a special hunt that takes years to draw trophy antelope.

 We are offering a 3-day hunt within this time frame which includes: pre-scouting for antelope, 1 guide to 1 hunter ratio, meals & lodging in our home, transportation to and from hunting area, harvest delivered to processor, round trip airport pick-up (Hayden/Steamboat Springs airport only).

Nonresidents apply at the same time and on the same application forms as resident hunters. They may purchase an over-the-counter license just the same as resident hunters.
