HotContact Info
A (DIY) Do it yourself hunt that has all of the options for the Colorado deer and elk hunter, we want to make you successful and provide you with only what you need to be successful.
We allow you to guide yourself, and we make certain that you don’t have to worry about food and lodging, just focus on hunting. Then if you decide you want a guide for a day or two than you can hire one by the day. We also have horses available. We can also assist you in packing out your deer or elk. We are here to make your hunt successful and provide you with what you need to make that happen.
Access/Terrain:
Begin with Prime elk and Trophy Mule deer country with everything from Scrub Oak to Sage Brush to spruce forest with plenty of open parks and dark timber.
The Ranch has access to 5500 acres of private land in GMU444. The ranch also borders the White River National Forest affording hunters access to large tracts of prime deer and elk habitat. We are in the mountains in rough rugged country, which is why our quality deer and elk like it here. You are free to bring your ATV; you just have to register it with a permit on your way through town.
On the property we have dark timber, aspens, oak brush and sage flats. It is a widely diverse area. Hunters should be in good physical condition to take advantage of the wildlife that lives and migrates through here. Many of the deer and elk are here all summer long but as winter arrives they are met by migrants coming down from the hills above.
Accommodations:
Our hunting lodge is made up of two cabins. One cabin features a large kitchen and dining area while the other houses 4 bedrooms and a central lounge area. Two bedrooms each have three sets of bunk style beds. Two bedrooms each have a full bed. There are two restrooms each with a shower. A walk in cooler/freezer as well as a screened room for cutting and processing is available at the lodge. You will enjoy hot showers and satellite television as well as excellent meals.
Meals:
During the rifle season dates we will provide meals to our hunters. Breakfast supplies are at the lodge and hunters may choose to rise and fix themselves what they choose when they choose. A standard lunch is some type of soup and sandwich. Full dinner service is provided with a different delectable meal each evening 30 minutes after dark. Archery hunters are responsible for their own meals unless other arrangements are made.
Ranch location:
We are located east of Glenwood Springs Colorado on the south side of the Colorado River. The nearest airport is Eagle County Airport or the Vail Airport located in Gypsum, Colorado which is 15 miles from ranch headquarters. We are a historic working ranch in the heart of the Colorado Rockies.
In GMU444 all mule deer licenses are limited so you must enter the draw. I can usually get land owner vouchers for license redemption for muzzleloading, 2nd rifle season 2 and 3rd rifle for mule deer.
For Elk, muzzleloading, rifle 1st season and 4th Season are limited draw only licenses. 2nd and 3rd Rifle and archery are over the counter and unlimited. There are no land owner vouchers for elk.
