You are invited to hunt mule deer and elk in the heart of northwestern Colorado's prime hunting country. We offer exclusive hunting opportunities for elk and mule deer on predominantly private ground in GMU 12. We limit the number of hunters on the ranch to optimize success and maximize our service to our clients. We Offer guided elk and mule deer hunts for archery, muzzleloader and rifle hunters.

Our goal is to provide quality, exclusive elk and mule deer hunting and excellent service. To that end, we book a mall groups for each season. With over 30 year’s experience as a hunting guide, along with a few other trusted guides, we provide the hunting service, with family style meals, good homemade food, and lots of it! We make every effort to provide their clients with a successful hunt, but they also strive to provide them with a pleasant atmosphere and an enjoyable experience.

Hunting Seasons and Pricing

We do not provide transportation to our ranch, unless prearranged. However, once here, all transportation while hunting will be provided for. We also provide transportation to the meat processor and to the taxidermist. All cost of meat processing and taxidermy are the hunter's responsibility, as is all license fees.

We will provide the following:

Fully guided, five day hunts (unless listed otherwise)

Lodging with shower facilities

Good home cooked meals

In field game care, and transportation to meat processor and taxidermist

No less than 1 guide for every 2 hunters

All youth hunts (age 12-16) half of adult price when accompanied by a paying adult

50% deposit required to hold season dates. First come first serve, non-refundable. Balance due upon arrival. Hunters are also responsible for hunting license fee.

Note: Colorado State Law requires that a Moffat County Lodging Tax of 1.9%, a Moffat County Sales Tax of 2.0%, and a Colorado State Tax of 2.9% be collected on the value of all meals and lodging furnished by the outfitter.

Guided Colorado Mule Deer and Elk Hunts

We hunt mornings and afternoons, with all three meals served family style in the ranch house. We provide all of the transportation needed while hunting, most of which is done by 4x4, ATV, or on foot. The weather can be changeable in Colorado; so layering is a good idea, while some really warm clothes need to be available in case of a sudden squall. Our goal is to provide excellent service to our hunters, as well as an exclusive hunting opportunity, so we limit our bookings to no more than four hunters per season. We have a new, heated cabin available for their use, with shower and toilet facilities.

Things to Remember:

ALL deer licenses are obtained by application

First and fourth season Elk licenses are obtained by application

Bull Elk licenses for second and third seasons are available over the counter.

Application deadline is the first Tuesday in April.

Muzzleloader and Archery Hunts

There has always been a good-sized herd of resident elk and mule deer in the area. The hayfields and meadows provide forage for them and we see them, (especially deer) grazing throughout the day. Does and fawns are most frequently seen, with the more wary and wiser bucks waiting until later in the afternoon to show up.

In past years, muzzleloaders have been very successful on the ranch. Since September of 2004, we also found that to be true of archery hunters. We take a limited number of archery and muzzleloader hunters, and are pleased with the success of these hunters and are looking forward to future hunts.

Muzzleloader licenses are obtained by application only.

Archery elk licenses can be obtained over the counter.

Archery deer are obtained by application only.

Application deadline is the first Tuesday in April.

Note: Our elk and deer hunts take place primarily on private land. We include the following disclosure to comply with BLM regulations - "All or part of this operation is conducted on Public Lands under special permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management."
