Discounted Big Trophy Whitetails Deer Hunts in the Famous Golden Triangle
Experience a quality whitetail hunt in the heart of Illinois' big buck country. This outfitter manages 10,000 acres of private land with one goal in mind—to put you on the buck of your dreams for this 5 day hunt near Chasta, Illinois..!
Illinois is home to monster whitetails bucks and this hunting area is located in the heart of big buck country—Adams, Brown, and Pike counties—the west-central portion of the state. These counties are known as deer hunting's "golden triangle" because they have dominated the Pope and Young and Boone & Crockett listings in recent years. That's why you've read about them in your favorite hunting publications. If you're a serious hunter, you owe it to yourself to experience a hunt in the Land of Lincoln.
The outfitter now owns over 2200 acres and has the exclusive hunting rights on another 8000 acres. This allows only our hunters to hunt on the property exclusively - not even the landowners are allowed to hunt there. This outfitter strictly manages each farm for trophy whitetail. First, we only buy or lease farms that hold a lot of deer and have the habitat to produce quality bucks year after year. Second, we don’t start hunting until the third week of October which is during the pre-rut phase. No one sets foot on these farms before hand to ensure minimal pressure on the deer herd. Third, we limit the amount of hunters we take on each property - not the number of bucks we harvest. We expect our hunters to harvest a mature 140+ buck. However, we also tell them that if they see the biggest buck they’ve ever seen then shoot it. Remember, this is supposed to be a hunt and an enjoyable experience. We treat it as both.
You will be hunting with professional guides who know how to bow hunt, and they know the property they hunt on intimately. If you come to hunt Illinois and it is November 6th, the temperature is 30 degrees and a 10 mph west wind is blowing then you have a good chance to shoot a great buck. However, if it is 60 degrees with a south blowing wind then you’d better hope your guide has an alternate plan.
Our guides are not allowed to hunt on any of our properties. We are probably the only outfitter in this area who maintains this strict rule. Their job is to get you a deer - not have you “scout” for them. Each guide will typically take two or three hunters on the same 600 to 800 acre tract of ground that he has hunted for years. More than 60% of our bow hunters consistently shoot at P&Y bucks each year.
We have over 500 tree stands set up for each phase of the rut and wind condition. Some are set up on one to five acre plots of beans, corn and clover that are grown and maintained for our deer herd. These plots are spread out in 100 different locations throughout our farms. Because the outfitter feeds them they come, eat and stay on our property. Seven of our tracts are between 600 and 1600 acres. These food plots have become favorite feeding grounds for big bucks both before and after the rut. It also concentrates the does which makes it easier for bucks to find estrous does during the rut. This is a very costly and labor intensive venture, but one that pays big dividends to our hunters which is what we’re all about. We want to provide you, our hunter, with a quality hunting experience.
We maintain low hunting pressure on quality, managed ground in an area known for the highest concentration of “big bucks” in North America. We have knowledgeable, seasoned and experienced guides working for you. It’s easy to see why 60% of our bow hunters consistently shoot at P&Y bucks each year and 70% of them come back year after year to enjoy another great hunt!
